AGE OF EMPIRES

The Age of Empires is a five to six millennia-long period of our ancient history, which is now largely shrouded in fables. This Age coincided with the emergence of the equally fabled empires of Telluria (capital: Tellespont) and Macremia (capital: Macremnon), which is estimated to have occured c.a. -15000 A.R.. These two empires are thought to have risen from the ashes of the near mythical neklaaran and shandyrin civilizations, which were destroyed in the wake of the War of Light and Darkness that ended some five millennia prior.

The times of Macremia and Telluria are characterized by great advances in
technomagics, the blending of science and magics. Sadly, the two empires mutually destroyed each other in the Great War of the Empires of c.a. -13000 A.R., which also brought about the destruction of Toristaerenylan (the mythical first elven kingdom on Anarym) and Shimmerstones (the equally mythical first dwarven undercity on Anarym).

The fall of Telluria and Macremia was followed a millennia later by the emergence of the empire of
Lankharh (capital: Lankhalas), around -12000 A.R.. Characterized by their mental ("psionic") powers, the lankharhans also inherited some of the ancient technomagic knowledge of the defunct macremian and tellurian empires. Then came the rise of the Twelve Mentarchs ("Mind Lords") c.a. -11000 A.R.: their rule eventually brought about the War of the Mind Lords which ended c.a. -10000 A.R., causing the fall and disintegration of the empire of Lankharh ... and consequently ending the Age of Empires.

Interrestingly, the end of the Age of Empires immediately heralded the
Age of Nations - our current age and so far the longest. To this effect, it is of note that not all of the empire of Lankharh dissolved or disintegrated after its fall. Even despite the exodus of all psionic-endowed ("true blood") lankharhans to a land far north and east they called Keryndhor, some of those non-psionic humans who were left behind in the fragmenting and crumbling empire managed to stave off anarchy and barbarism, holding on to sizeable pockets of civilization few and far between, thus giving birth to the very first nations. The secretive, mysterious and isolationist south-eastern nations of Anuria, Yzunia, Estharym and Alander are such siblings of the defunct lankharhan empire, and are consequently among the oldest and most powerful nations in Anarym.
