Lesser known Gods and Minor Cults

Ancient and less known Gods

The following lists those lesser known Gods of the Realmz and Anarym. Some of them are quite ancient, going back to the dawn of time, and their worship gradually dwindled over the millennia. This can be due to several factors, such as the destruction, imprisonment or banishment of the Power (NOTE: most deaths and/or banishments of these Powers occured during the fabled War of Light and Darkness of some twenty millennia past, when the gods walked upon the world to lead a great struggle between Good and Evil). Banished or dead Powers are no longer worshiped, and more often than not remembered only by well-learned scholars and sages; imprisoned Powers usually still have a following. Some of these Gods are not necessarily "Powers" as the other gods already described, but powerful, fantastic beings that held primitive peoples in awe, and thus worshiped by them. Others, as in the case of the infamous Griloch, are mortals who managed to acquire god-like power and status.

Lastly, some of the Gods listed herein are simply 'new worships' and thus constitute minor cults, or have simply been more or less forgotten by mortals as to hold only a marginal following in the present days. However, the relative 'minority' of such cults in no way discounts the possibility of their eventual ascendancy, or re-emergence ...

Ageia: good Titan (dead); ex-Goddess of Wisdom (sister of Paragion);

Berhune: good Demi-Power; God of Peace, Courage and Self-Sacrifice;

Chloros: neutral Titan; God of Herbs, Plants and Trees;

Crimsane: neutral Power (dead); ex-Goddess of Tolerance and Patience (sister of Astrane);

Gharrok: evil Titan (imprisoned); God of Chaos and Destruction;

Griloch: evil Demi-Power [imprisoned/banished/dead (?)]; God of Evil and Domination;

Icicle: evil Demi-Power; Goddess of Frost;

Ilsanar: good Demi-Power; Goddess of Chivalry, Bravery and Heroism;

Nehtran: evil Titan (dead); ex-God of Jealousy, Temptations and Dark Desires;

Paragion: good Titan (dead); ex-God of Intelligence, Truth and Loyalty (brother of Ageia);

Shen: good Demi-Power ; Goddess of Light;

Shimmers: neutral Power (dead); ex-Goddess of Calm, Inner Peace and Neutrality (sister of Astrane);

Tauruseus: evil Titan (imprisoned); God of Winds, Tempests and Storms;

Z'Zroxx: evil Entity [gone/banished/dead (?)]; God of Ruthlessness, Vengeance and Wrath;

Utherack: evil Power [gone/banished (?)]; God of Death;

Xaphini: chaotic Demi-Power; God of Lightning and Electricity;

Xumalduur: evil Power (imprisoned); God of Oblivion, Void, and Annihilation.

Cults

The following list the most known cults that exist throughout the Realmz and Anarym. Such cults usually involve no actual Power (or God), but could involve nonetheless powerful spirits that have the form of the object of the cult. Quite often, some of these cults are in fact encouraged by true Powers or powerful beings such as Demon Lords, as a mean of acquiring (indirectly) new followers. For instance, Neralkuur is often behind most Serpent cults, Domorash behind evil Wyrm cults, Miellakar behind Unicorn cults, Nostrosh behind Fire cults, and Tlarantale behind Spider cults. In any event, cults differ greatly from race to race, and from region to region, even if the same cult-object is worshiped: thus, a cult of Fire could be a benevolent religion in one part of the world and be utterly evil in nature in another. Here is the list of those most known cults; worshipers can be of virtually any race, with any degree of civilization (although most often such cults involve isolated barbarian, humanoid or savage tribes):
