THE TWIN STONE GUARDIANS

One of the terrible consequences of the mythical War of Light and Darkness (estimated to have occured between -22000 and -20000 A.R.) is that numerous Demi-Gods and Gods were either destroyed (e.g. Crimsane, Shimmers, Ageia, et al.) or imprisoned in remote places or planes that are said to be unreachable, or impregnable (e.g. Tauruseus, Gharrok, Xumalduur, et al.).

The
Twin Stone Guardians were erected by Goodly and Lawful powers in the aftermath of the mythical war to guard one such prisons. These two cyclopean statues are said to have been carved from the Range Tower Mountains themselves, standing on each side of a great portal - it is presumed that this same portal leads to a passage in the underbelly of the mountain, where a demi-power remains imprisoned to this day. Some scholars speculate that this demi-god is the titan demi-power Gharrok, God of Chaos and Destruction. In any event, it is said that nothing alive can pass through the Twin Stone Guardians - and as far as we know, no one (or nothing) has indeed ever managed to accomplish this feat, if only because Gharrok remains imprisoned.
