The Forgotten Valley

This large valley nestled in the middle of the Crystalmist Mountain Range is essentially a thick and dense tropical rainforest. Wild and rugged, this rainforest has ever been overlooked for exploration and/or settlement by the surrounding nations and cities, and consequently dubbed as being "forgotten". However, there are rumors that primitive human communities ("barbarians") have managed to survive in this rainforest - it is said that some of them are even somewhat civilized and call themselves Mayaltecs. Tavern-talk also often mention the existence of cathoon and tigtaur communities, as well as roaming forest giant clans and fearsome predatory snakemen, in addition to crocodiles, venomous winged-snakes, hungry tigers and terrifying hydras.

Of note are the ruins of a city of the lost empire of Lankharh (which fell c.a. -10000 A.R. in the aftermath of the fabled War of the Mind Lords) that lie in the south-eastern end of the Forgotten Valley. Some very knowledgeable scholars suggest that this city may be Lankh'Nar, the place where the fabled Mentarchs were born.

The Forgotten Valley constitutes a part of the adventuring locale in the scenario Wrath of the Mind Lords.
