The Elven Forest-Kingdom of Oaklarand
Constituting the north-western end of the Azure Coast, along with the grasslands west of the Great River, the southern area of the thick and dense Wolvesden Woodlands were first settled by valoreny elves some eight thousand years ago (around -6729 A.R.). The strongest and wisest of the valoreny clans founded Oaklarand and instituted its crown some 1200 years later (-5534 A.R.). King Danilan Singfeathers (ruling from -5534 to -4890) founded the dynastic house of Sindalyn as the very first monarch of Oaklarand. In great part due to the wise and brave leadership of Danilan's successor, Queen Tamaril Singfeathers (Danilan's daughter, ruling from -4890 to -3945), all valoreny clans came under the protection of the kingdom and swore fealty to its crown in the Year of the Singing Union (-4512 A.R.).
Throughout the ensuing millennia, the kingdom has not only survived invasions from humanoids, the arrival of humans (in -503 A.R.) and many wars, but also managed to grow stronger. Today (1396 A.R.), Oaklarand is easily one of the economic, academic/cultural and political/military forces of the Azure Coast, holding sway over the whole of the Wolvesden Woodlands and in many ways the equal of Southgate. To this effect, Oaklarand jointly commands the Spear Towers (constructed: 968 A.R.), a series of fortified fortresses shared in alliance with Southgate. The current monarch of Oaklarand is Queen Anethil Stareyes (ruling since 811 A.R.), still of the house of Sindalyn.
The Kingdom of Oaklarand constitutes a part of the adventuring locale in the scenarios Dead of Night and Realm of Death.
