Semdanar
This city was founded in 66 A.R. during the rule of the dark majestrix Anlara Tyrane (reigned: 51 to 70 A.R.), first of the Magiarchs (from 51 to 422 A.R.) of Southgate. Her forcible expulsion of all goodly/lawful worships during the Year of Sorrows (52 A.R.), and her later proclamation of the kingdom of Tyrane (from 59 to 70 A.R.; defined by the natural borders of the Great River and the Stonewall River to the west, the Coast Ridge Mountains and Stonewall Mountains to the north, and the Azure Sea to the south and east), caused numerous people to flee from the Greater Southgate area. Some of these refugees journeyed along the coastal lands south of the Coast Ridge Mountains, finding a small vale nestled against the towering range where they settled and founded Semdanar.
In the ensuing centuries, while the kingdom of Tyrane had been renamed Malebonia (from 70 to 422 A.R.) by the ruthless Magiarch Marloch Sorceron (a lich; reigned: 70 to 370 A.R.) and suffered a reign of terror that lasted 300 years, Semdanar remained unbothered and consequently was allowed to grow in size, stength and self-sufficiency as a free, independent city. It would not be until 437 A.R., a good ten years after the deposition of the next-to-last Magiarch, Crenax Faralax (reigned: 370 to 422 A.R.), and the subsequent disintegration of the kingdom of Malebonia, that contact between Semdanar and the Greater Southgate area would be established. With Southgate having returned to a status of independent city-state, trade and diplomatic relations were quickly and easily organized - and have since matured into a full partnership and alliance.
Semdanar of today (1396 A.R.) remains fiercely independent in spirit - consequently, it has ever been ruled benevolently by a Council of Elders comprised of six of the most proeminent men and women of the city's high society (usually high priests, merchant lords, etc.). Always keeping a watchful eye toward Istemper, which does not hide its intention of annexing the city, Semdanar trades actively with the Sails Coast and the Azure Coast, its mining operations producing most of its exporting revenues in trade. Its political, economic and military alliance with Southgate has ever provided the city with a wide berth of freedom and tranquility. Lastly, it is noteworthy that the worship of good (e.g. Agrah, Lharishar, Dianchuur, Tyr, etc.), lawful (e.g. Codan, Odan, etc.) and neutral (e.g. Erond, Danuur, Hurme, Woralduur, etc.) powers are predominant in Semdanar and its whereabouts.
Semdanar is yet to constitute a part of the adventuring locale of a Realmz scenario.
